I grew up in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry. I qualified as a General Nurse in the U.K. (1999) and subsequently spent the next four years working as a General Nurse in hospitals in London, Edinburgh and Australia and also as a General Practitioner's Nurse.
In 2002 I decided to further my medical career by studying Osteopathy. While studying at the European School of Osteopathy (E.S.O.) in Kent, I gained practical experience in Structural, Functional, Cranial and Visceral Osteopathy.
In 2006 I graduated as a registered Osteopath obtaining a BSc. Honours Degree in Osteopathy. In 2013 I received a Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy from The Irish Association of Paediatric Osteopaths (I.A.P.0.). I am registered with the Osteopathic Council of Ireland and the General Osteopathic Council (G.Os.C.) which regulates my profession.
After qualifying in Kent I returned home and worked as an Associate Osteopath in Cork city.
I regularly attend Professional Development seminars in Osteopathy the most recent being 'Cranial Osteopathy for Newborns and the Expectant Mother', 'Diagnosising and treating shoulder complains' and 'Sports Injuries of the Lower Limb'.
I currently operate my own Practice in three locations - Bellevue Clinic, Mallow in Co. Cork, Fermoy Osteopathic Clinic, 55 McCurtain St., Fermoy in Co. Cork and Blarney Osteopathic Clinic, Ashdale House, Blarney in Co. Cork. The Mallow clinic has been in existence since 2007 (being located in Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre - MPHC for one and a half years). In 2014 and I expanded to nearby Fermoy and I opened my latest clinic in Blarney in 2023.
At the European School of Osteopathy, I gained experience in the practice of structural, functional, visceral, and cranial osteopathy, and I am able to offer my patients an integrated form of treatment which includes structural work, deep soft tissue massage, manipulation, visceral mobilisation, cranial osteopathy, exercises and postural advice.
While completing my Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy I gained valuable experience as the course focused on treating children with specials needs and complex neurological cases.
